'The Vatican Mummy Project' - The restoration of the mummy of Ny-Maat-Re (MV 25011.6.1) S. 33-43 The delicate restoration of the mummy of Ny-Maat-Re in the Vatican Museums involved three operations never undertaken before: A) the making of a shell to hold the body; B) the turning of the mummy into a supine position in order to allow the restoration of a big tear in the back; C) the re-assembly and repositioning of a great part of the vertebral column in order to prevent the collapse of the thoracic cavity.
