In the 2005 season at Tell el-Farkha, work was continued on the Western and Central koms in areas excavated in previous years. A fourth brewery was discovered on the Western kom, and potsherds accompanying all the breweries allowed to date them to the Naqada IIB/C period. On the Central kom evidence for an opulent village came to light in the form of some architectural remains but also copper implements, stone and ivory decorative objects and high-quality pottery.
