Republication of ostracon Glasgow D 1925.91 originally published by McDowell and studied by Sternberg-El Hotabi. The transcription can be improved in several points. The ostracon contains parts of the so-called 'Menu-song' related to the offering of a cocktail to Hathor. This composition is studied anew concerning its philological problems as well as its composition, citations in different contexts and possible date of origin. There is definite evidence of its being known during saite times, perhaps even much earlier. Excerpts are often included in offering scenes in the greco-roman temples. The ostracon itself seems to have been a cheap and handy writing tablet for use during the actual ritual.
