AB  - The Earlier Egyptian expression <UMSCHRIFT>ḫpr.n</UMSCHRIFT> + sentence is argued to represent an erstwhile main verb + subject complement clause construal whose first component developed into an initial auxiliary. The progress of its grammaticalisation is followed and the dynamics and motivating forces thereof defined. These are subsequently used to posit a general syntactic and semantic-pragmatic model for grammaticalisation of initial auxiliaries in Earlier Egyptian. Die Konstruktion <UMSCHRIFT>ḫpr.n</UMSCHRIFT> plus Satz des älteren Ägyptisch wird im Rahmen dieses Aufsatzes auf eine frühere aus Verb plus Komplementssatz in Subjektsstelle zurückgeführt, deren erste Komponente sich sprachhistorisch zu einem initialen Hilfsverb entwickelt. In der Verfolgung des Prozesses dieser Grammatikalisierung wird versucht, die zugrunde liegenden Abläufe und Motivationen zu identifizieren, um daraus ein generelles syntaktisches und semantisch-pragmatisches Modell für die Grammatikalisierung initialer Hilfsverben im älteren Ägyptisch zu entwickeln.
