AB  - After dismissing evidence for an earlier, shortened form of the Middle Kingdom royal female title <UMSCHRIFT>ẖnmt-nfr-ḥḏt</UMSCHRIFT>, the author discusses the use of this title, showing that it was indeed a title and not a proper name. <UMSCHRIFT>ẖnmt-nfr-ḥḏt</UMSCHRIFT> was held by one queen and one princess in each reign, and since it was clear to which royal woman the title referred, it could be used alone without the woman's proper name.
